A splendid hike along a levada (canal in Portuguese) is very close by. We would be happy to point it out to you.

The closest one is in Ponta do Sol itself, a 2-minute drive. In Madalena do Mar, it's 7 minutes away.

Or you could go to Calheta, 15 minutes away by car.

Yes completely. You will find the famous Levada das 25 Fontes, Levada do Risco, Levada do Alecrim, Levada da Bica Cana, ...
